Personal & Academic Counselling
A plan the student actually believes in.
- Who it's for
- Students and parents at any stage, whether or not you enrol in a subject programme.
- Duration
- Single session or ongoing engagement
- Format
- One-to-one, with a parent session included

Overview
Most academic problems presented to us are not academic. They are a mismatch between what a student is being pushed toward and what they can sustain.
Counselling at DUAA begins with listening — to the student first, then the family — and ends with a written plan everyone in the room has agreed to.
What you leave with
- A written academic plan after the first engagement
- A separate parent debrief session
- Review checkpoints through the year
Curriculum
What the programme covers
Stream & Subject Selection
Grade 10 and Grade 12 decisions made on evidence rather than pressure.
Career Mapping
Aptitude, interest, and realistic pathway alignment.
Study Habits
Timetabling, focus, and revision method rebuilt from where the student actually is.
Exam Pressure
Managing anxiety around board and entrance seasons.
Parent Sessions
So the plan is supported at home, not negotiated there.
Questions
Frequently asked
- Do we have to enrol in a subject programme?
- No. Counselling is available on its own.
- Will you speak to us as parents separately?
- Yes, always. The student session and the parent session are held separately and then brought together.
